Keeping In Touch

As of tomorrow, Google will be retiring Google Friends Connect (the widget over there on the right sidebar, where you can join a site) for all non Blogger blogs.  I know a lot of my readers who have their own blogs have them on Blogger, but I've been down that route, wasn't at all satisfied with it and certainly wouldn't go back just to have their silly widget, lol.

So, what this means for the readers of SS~WW; if you use a feed reader such as Google reader, Feedly, Bloglines, NewsGator or even most any email client to receive RSS updates on blogs and websites - it doesn't affect you at all, carry on.

If, on the other hand, you use your "blogs I follow" page from within (or without for that matter) Blogger, SS~WW and any other non Blogger blogs/sites you have joined will, most likely, no longer show updates and new posts.  Google is, of course, suggesting that we (the non Blogger blogs/sites) move over to Google+ and keep our community there.  I do have a Google+ page but it's sort of on hiatus atm and I don't know that I would ever use it for the blog.  I may look into a page just for SS~WW but it's not on the cards right now.

So, if your only means of being notified of updates for SS~WW or any other non Blogger site is through Google's Friends connect/"blogs I follow" page, please take a few moments to add SS~WW to your preferred RSS reader by subscribing through the subscription feeds (again, on the right sidebar).  In time, I may spend a bit of time looking this weekend, I'll add another service similiar to the GFC so that anyone who wishes can join/follow SS~WW.

Hi kelly! yes I am having a very nice wednesday lol!

I dont use any RSS feeds or whatever for my blogs of choice- I just keep them listed in my 'favourites',and manually check to see if there are any newposts! Old fashioned, me?? Lol
